Product DescriptionThis mixed metal zodiac cuff is a one of a kind creation with the artist’s hand shown clearly in the work. The top and bottom layers are braided sterling, copper, and brass, hand hammered to create a smooth surface with a scalloped edge. Next is a fine gauge copper, rolled and stamped with a delicate geometric design.The center is the show piece: Rolled copper, 8 mm high, stamped with signs of the zodiac, including Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aries and Scorpio.This is an Arts & Crafts revival era piece, likely made in the mid to late 1970s. A cuff style bracelet that gives the layered “bangle” look on the wrist, it bridges the gap from the solid Arts & Crafts cuffs of the early 1970s to the layered individual bangles of the 1980s.The mixed metal zodiac cuff design measures 30 mm from top to bottom and is sized to fit an 8 inch wrist. As is the case with most mixed metal pieces, the metal content is unmarked. This piece is made primarily of pure copper and it weighs 26 grams (1 ounce).
